Dear Seattle, Can I please come back?? 36 hours just isn't long enough!

Dear Gates Foundation, I cannot thank you enough for the incredible experience. I would also like to take a moment to speak for all the teachers there when I say thank you for treating us like professionals. Thank you for advocating for us!

Dear readers, We're heading to Asheville for the weekend and are looking for suggestions for things to do, places to see, and food to eat! Whatcha got for us??

Dear Daisy, I don't know what to do with you and all your personality.

This was taken when we were ignoring her and trying to eat supper. Clearly she did not agree with our choice.

Dear Davido, You rocked the Batman pajamas last night even if they were a smidge snug. Next year we'll spring for the real thing!

Dear Central Office, I can't thank you enough for blessing us with teacher workdays on Halloween AND the day after. The teachers of Mooresville are indebted to you.

Dear God, Thank you for giving me the opportunity to take in this beautiful view.

Happy Friday, folks!

Dear teacher friends, We are almost a quarter of the way through the school year and we have the work to prove it! Just a few extra hours of grading and we can dive straight on into the next chapter of the year.

Dear students,  I know you're tired. I know you're antsy. I know you're getting fidgety. You took us through some interesting antics with the full moon, but we stood strong against your crazy. Only a few more days until your break! Please be kind. 

Dear Renaissance Festival, We're coming for ya! You never cease to entertain us with your cuckoo antics. Looking forward to more interesting characters than ever before!

Dear Fall,  Where'd ya go? I blinked and we seem to have entered Winter. We've discussed time and time again my dislike of your sister Winter, so I'm going to need you to have a talking to her and get her to step back for a bit. No more thirty degree mornings!

Dear tastebuds, I see a new trend and I like it.

Dear Trail Run, You scare me. I've never run on a trail so why I signed up to so an entire 5K race is beyond me. Please be gentle. My foot and knee are reminding me this week how I'm not getting any younger. . .

Dear new running shoes, You cost a pretty penny, but you sure are pretty.

Dear David, I just love you to pieces and can't wait for all our adventures in the coming weeks!

Dear foot, What's up with this dreadful pain whenever I walk or put pressure on you? Ain't nobody got time for that. I've got a 5k tomorrow morning that I'd really like to finish!

Dear Food Truck Rally, I am SO excited for you. I kinda fell in love with your concept when  I heard about one in Raleigh. The fact that there is one just a hop, skip, and jump away from us has me giddy with excitement! I will be fasting all day in preparation to pig out on you.

Dear iphone 5s, I can't wait to meeeeeeet you! You are scheduled to join the fam this afternoon-wahooooo!

Dear David, I love you. You are wonderful and amazing and superb and any other similar adjective that exists.

Dear allergies, I am done with you. Donezo. Caput. See ya later, alligator. Hit the road, Jack and don't you dare come back! I am so tired of clawing my eyeballs out and sneezing more times than I can count.

Dear Jason Aldean, Thank you for a rockin' show last night. It was a fabulous way to end our summer concert series. And the fact that you surprised us with Kelly Clarkson?? Major bonus points there, sir.

Dear students, It's only been two weeks and you have already stolen my heart with your humor and love. Be gentle because this mama bear is already watching out for her kids!

Dear birthday, You were pretty awesome but I hate that you had to go so soon. Already looking forward to your return!

Dear dentist, Though I only see you twice a year, you still have this ability to illicit total fear and anxiety in me. Congratulations.

Dear back pain, What the heck? Not exactly sure where you came from, but you can return there now. Ain't nobody got time for you.

Dear Mother Nature, Do you need to talk? I feel like with these mood swings you must have a lot going on. I mean one day we're sitting at 95 with 100% humidity and ick, then a week later it's barely breaking 70. These mood swings are really difficult on my closet, but I'll take these cool dips as long as you want to send them!

Dear school friends, I missed y'all! It was so good seeing everyone this week. I can't wait to see all the awesome things we accomplish this year!

Dear NC legislature, You want to spend more money on inmates than you do on students? Fine, but I hope you enjoy the karma train because it is going to slam right smack into you when you least expect it.

Dear Momma, Happy (belated) Birthday! I hope it was everything you could have imagined and more. We can't wait to celebrate with you in a week!

Dear Daisy, Thank you for being so good when we took pictures last weekend. I know it was crazy hot, but you were a rockstar. I'm pretty sure you had the best pictures of any of us.

Dear Jen Lancaster, Thank you for continuing to crack me up with your crazy antics. Tao of Martha has been a great reminder that I'm not alone in the world when I mess up yet another "easy" recipe/craft/project. 

Dear reading friends, Looking for a good book to read this summer? Look no further! This list of 14 books being made into movies has quite a few on here that will keep you hooked for hours! My personal fave? Divergent, but I'm excited to read a few of the others too!

Dear world, I'm excited to finally be a human again now that school is over! I'll be able to stay up past 8pm and not feel the need to fuss at random children when out in public. Let's be real here, that urge may never leave.

Dear students, Despite some stressful moments, I am truly going to miss y'all. You welcomed me back with open arms in January and reminded me time and time again why I am a teacher. Thank you for a great year!

Dear testing, Please go away. All my poor little babies (and my little babies I mean 8th graders bigger than me) are stressed to the max! You are giving them cold sweats, sobs, and stress no child should ever experience. Just vamoosh!
